HYTOR A/S recently had its management system certified according to all 3 standards at a time.
Since 1981 HYTOR has sold process equipment and developed and designed custom solutions for e.g. the oil/gas industry, which puts heavy demands on the equipment and where customers require compact, service-friendly and most of all reliable solutions.
Growth and internationalisation
Over recent years HYTOR has experienced a substantial growth. Since 2006 the total turnover of HYTOR has doubled and the number of employees is now totalling approximately 75.
In 2004 HYTOR was appointed authorized sales- and service centre for Swagelok in Denmark and Russia respectively. In Denmark the sale of Swagelok fluid technology components is taken care of by the subsidiary Swagelok Danmark sharing premises, facilities and administration with HYTOR. In Russia the subsidiary Swagelok Moscow employs 17 staff selling Swagelok components.
HYTOR is split into 5 primary business areas/sales departments: Pneumatics, Process Engineering, Hydraulic tools, Swagelok Danmark and Swagelok Moscow. The company is a private limited liability company owned by John Hansen (General Manager), Niels Grening Langerhuus (Market Manager of Hydraulic Tools), Finn Hoest (Market Manager of Swagelok Danmark) and Palle V. Pedersen (IT Manager).
Quality and service are core values
The growth and internationalisation experienced over recent years have meant that the business processes have become more complex. Quality and service have right from the start been core values for HYTOR. This is still the case today. And tomorrow.
In order to ensure that customers will never be disappointed with HYTOR's product or service quality, the company decided to develop a management system, which complies with all requirements of ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and OHSAS 18001 (working environment).
Employees are actively involved
Right from the start it was decided not to attach any external consultants. There was a wish to maintain internally the learning and knowledge gathered in the certification process.
HSEQ Manager Lise Bjerning Terp has been project manager. The goal was to construct a user-friendly management system familiar to all employees. The employees of the individual teams have been actively involved in describing the work procedures, processes and paper flow. An important spin-off of the project has been that work procedures were at this occasion analysed and discussed and in almost all departments these could be simplified.
The result is a management system easily accessible to all employees from the intranet. A few quick clicks with the mouse leads you to the right process cards and instructions. The system is applied actively and currently improved and simplified, which means that with the same resources HYTOR can create even more value for its customers and partners.

Furthermore, HYTOR was awarded the Smiley with a crown of the Danish Working Environment Authority which indicates that the company has made an extraordinary effort to ensure a high level of health and safety.
